In our last lesson, (Part 1, Click here to go back to it), we looked at the centurion’s faith in what Jesus could do, by His Word, alone. He said, “just speak the word and my servant will be healed.” As we saw the servant was healed from the very moment Jesus spoke the Word. Mat 8:13 (CSB) Then Jesus told the centurion, “Go. As you have believed, let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that very moment.
So then in looking at this, we can begin to see that the things we say and the words we speak. They are very important for the desired outcomes we want to have in this life?
Why are they so important? Well, we get a good clue from looking at where, the words we speak originate. They come up from down deep in our soul. Our thoughts preclude our words and spring up from the very core of our being, the “Heart.”
Used in this fashion, our “Heart speaks” from what has been put in it. Along with the emotions involved when they were conceived and stored. Look at this scripture from the Word of God, the Bible. Luke 6:45 (MKJV) A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth the good. And an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth the evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
Clearly, you can dress someone up in nice clothes, give them a bath, and fix their hair. Then put them in a situation where they can mingle with some well-to-do people. Seemingly, at first glance, they may look like they belong in the setting. They may seem intelligent and even perhaps look like a well-educated person, their selves.
However, the real truth about the person becomes very well known, once they open their mouth in speech. The Bible says it like this and it is so true,
Pro 17:28 (MKJV) Even a fool, when he is silent, is counted wise, and he who shuts his lips is counted as a man of understanding.
So, getting back on track with our subject of discussion. When we speak and use our words in line with promises from the Word of God. Then we are speaking into our lives, words that are filled with life.
Therefore, we can clearly see that God’s Word, when spoken and/or used properly, produces incredible results in our lives. Even when it seems like our backs are up against the preverbal wall, so to speak. Just like the centurions’ was with his servant who was deathly ill.
But what did he do to change things for the better? He called on and believed in Jesus to work a miracle for him and He did.
No wonder Jesus said this in Mark’s gospel. Mark 11:23-24 (MKJV) For truly I say to you that whoever shall say to this mountain, Be moved and be cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart (the innermost part of his being), but shall believe that what he said shall occur, he shall have whatever he said.
Mrk 11:24 Therefore I say to you, All things, whatever you ask, praying, believe that you shall receive them, and it will be to you.
So, now I ask the question, what are the mountains in your life that you need to speak to? What is it that you need to ask God, in the precious name of His Holy Son, Jesus Christ, to do for you?
Notice, God doesn’t just perform a miracle for us because we need Him to. It’s not because He doesn’t care or want to do it for us. For nothing could be further from the truth.
Instead, He is waiting for us to activate our faith in Him, so He can do whatever it is for us. If it is in line with His Word, then it is in line with His will for us.
My friends, He is moved by our faith in Him and His ability to supply our need. Look at what the apostle Paul said to the church at Philippi, Php 4:19 (MKJV) But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
This “Need” that He supplies is not just our financial need. But it is any “Need” we have and He is more than willing to supply it according to His riches in glory.
Notice, He didn’t say He would meet our “Need”, when the doctors said it would finally be, OK. Nor did He say He would meet our “Need” when the stock market was up. Also, He didn’t say He would meet our “Need” in our family relationship after we were perfect, either.
As God’s children we walk in grace, divine favor, that is unmerited favor in Him. You see God doesn’t meet our need based on how good or deserving we are. But He meets our need based on how good and deserving His Son is. Oh Hallelujah!
In spite of ourselves, and what we do. We have a loving, giving, caring, and precious Savior who only wants the very best for us. It is when we understand how much He loves us that we can then be real with Him and believe He can do anything for us.
My friends, today begin speaking the Word of God over yourself, your family, ministry, relationships, jobs, finances, housing, health and anything else which you need to ask Him for.
Know that He wants to meet our needs more than we need Him to meet our needs. That’s huge, brothers and sisters! We just have to understand the love of our God for our own self and family. No matter how big or small the need is. He is ready and willing to meet it.
Be blessed in everything you do and we will see you again in the next ministry post.
