New Year – New Opportunities!

Yay! It is that time again! Time to reflect on this past years accomplishments and to look forward to the #NewOpportunities in the coming “New Year”.

One thing is for sure, no matter how we remember this last year, the #NewYear is a clean slate. Time to brush ourselves off and “shoot for the moon!”

My friends, dream big for this next season in your life. Set a “Big goal” that you want to accomplish by the end of this next year. Then set intermediate goals along the way to accomplishing your big goal.

This way you can stay on track and mark things off, as you fulfill them. If you stumble, no problem! Dust yourself off and get back in the saddle, (so to speak). You can do it!

The Bible says in Php 4:13 (KJV) I can do all things through Christ which (or Who) strengtheneth me.

My friends, with God on your side you are going to succeed! Rom 8:31(KJV) What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

I like to state it this way. If the God who created the universe is on your side, then who is stupid enough to be against you? I look at this verse of scripture sometimes, like it is a boxing ring! Doing it this way, I can picture its meaning clearly.

“In this ring we have ‘Mano a Mano‘”! [2 people with hands/fist clenched competing against each other]. Each person has a partner! The 1st one has the “Masked Devourer,” “The Dragon,” “The Thief” a.k.a. “Satan” as his/her tag-team partner. *Please note folks…he has been known to take off running, just at the proper mention of the opponents, partners name.*

In the other corner we have “You” (insert your name here) and his/her partners title and name is “The Only Begotten of The Father,” “The King of all kings,” “The Lord of all lords,”  “The Lion of the tribe of Judah,” “The Bright and Morning Star,” and “The Creator of the Universe”! His name is Jesus Christ – The Holy Son of God!

Oh hallelujah! Does this change the meaning or outlook of Romans 8:31 for you? I know it does for me and I get excited just thinking about having Jesus in my corner.

With Him you can and you will accomplish the goals that you have set for this new year. Know this my friend, with Him I know our dreams will come to pass and we will be an overcomer in every situation, which faces us in this new year of opportunity.

Larry Atkerson Ministries

Larry Atkerson Sr. was born-again at a young age. He grew up in rural southeastern Oklahoma, then in high school, his family moved to Tulsa, Ok. During this time he met the young lady who would become his wife, Lisa. They got married when they were still in their teen years. Obviously, getting married at this age created some very interesting times as they both grew up and matured together. However, they have stayed true to their vows, to each other, and have basically grown up with their 3 wonderful children. Larry Atkerson Sr. and Lisa Atkerson both have received training in ministry at "Rhema Bible Training Center" and "School of the Local Church"/"Grace School of Ministry" in Broken Arrow, and Tulsa, Ok. respectively. While attending "School of the Local Church", he received his first taste of the original languages of the Bible, in a course called "Beginning Biblical Greek". Since that time he has also received training in "Biblical Hebrew", with a university based in Israel. "eTeacher". Larry Atkerson Sr. has worked/volunteered in just about every position a church or ministry can have. In doing so, he has filled many different roles ranging from door-greeter to Sunday-School teacher, and children’s church worker to counselor. He has also served in the pastoral positions of children’s, youth, and adult ministries. He has worked and been involved in hospital/visitation ministries where he has seen the power of God change people’s lives. He delights in going on short-term mission trips! All the while, seeing the love of God with applied wisdom - transform people and their lives forever. Larry Atkerson Sr. teaches a weekly bible study class starting just after spring break each year and continuing until right before Thanksgiving. In the class, he delves into the wonderful-exciting-mysteries and simplicity of the Word of God.
