God is Doing Something New!

Really, “Yes,” He is, and “Yes,” He has. Oh, my friends, our God is an awesome God! There has never been anyone like Him. And there will never be anyone like Him.

Look at what The Lord God said in the book of Isaiah. Isa 45:18-23 (CSB) For this is what the LORD says —the Creator of the heavens, the God who formed the earth and made it, the one who established it (he did not create it to be a wasteland, but formed it to be inhabited) —he says, “I am the LORD, and there is no other.

Isa 45:19 I have not spoken in secret, somewhere in a land of darkness. I did not say to the descendants of Jacob: Seek me in a wasteland. I am the LORD, who speaks righteously, who declares what is right.

Isa 45:20 “Come, gather together, and approach, you fugitives of the nations. Those who carry their wooden idols and pray to a god who cannot save have no knowledge.

Isa 45:21 Speak up and present your case —yes, let them consult each other. Who predicted this long ago? Who announced it from ancient times? Was it not I, the LORD? There is no other God but me, a righteous God and Savior; there is no one except me.

Isa 45:22 Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth. For I am God, and there is no other.

Isa 45:23 By myself I have sworn; truth has gone from my mouth, a word that will not be revoked: Every knee will bow to me, every tongue will swear allegiance.

In this section of scripture, The Lord God says five times that He alone is God and there are no other gods like Him, period! As in, “End of discussion!” I will hear it no more. Then in verse 23, He states that sooner or later, EVERY knee will eventually bow to Him and EVERY tongue will confess, (no, even stronger than that) they will swear that He is God.

The only problem is some will not swear His truth until they meet Him face to face. But sadly, it will be too late by that time.

Since then, salvation is not produced when they stand before the “Great White Throne Judgment,” and it will be too late for them. Instead, they will be cast from His presence into hell and then the “Lake of Fire.” 

My friends, please note this: If God spoke or recorded it even once in the Bible, it is true! However, this truth isn’t only spoken in this passage. It was also spoken in the New Testament in a couple of different ways.

Before we go back to “God is Doing Something New, ” for completion’s sake, let’s briefly look at the other scriptures in the New Testament, which confirm what He has already established in Isaiah.

Romans 14:10-12 (CSB) 10 But you, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or you, why do you despise your brother or sister? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.

11 For it is written, As I live, says the Lord, every knee will bow to me, and every tongue will give praise to God.

12 So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.

It is further reiterated in this section of scripture. Php 2:5-11 (CSB) Adopt the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus,

Php 2:6 who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God as something to be exploited. (My friends, He could have at any time operated from His God-side. Instead, He emptied Himself and operated as a man, anointed by the Spirit and power of God. So, we can clearly see the example He left for us. We can, as humans, also operate in the same faith and have God use and bless us for His glory. Oh, hallelujah!)

Php 2:7 Instead he emptied himself by assuming the form of a servant, taking on the likeness of humanity. And when he had come as a man,

Php 2:8 he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death —even to death on a cross.

Php 2:9 For this reason God highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, (The devil hates that name, #Jesus! Because that name represents God in human form. For He, Jesus, made a show of him [Satan] openly in hell through His death, burial, and resurrection from the dead. But also, while here on the earth as a man, He healed the sick, cast out demons, told people the Truth about His position with God, as His Son. He also raised people from the dead. Even before, He allowed Himself to be crucified. Thereby, paying the sin penalty for mankind through His death, burial, and resurrection from the dead. Paving the only true way to salvation, which is through Him.)

Php 2:10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow —in heaven and on earth and under the earth —

Php 2:11 and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Oh, hallelujah, my friends! “God Did Something New!” He made a way of escape for us to see Him and not be ashamed! That is through believing in the shed blood of His Son, Jesus Christ, and His resurrection from the dead.

For if we believe in Him and confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, then we are saved. Look at Romans 10:9-11 (CSB).

Rom 10:9 If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Rom 10:10 One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation.

Rom 10:11 For the Scripture says, Everyone who believes on him will not be put to shame,

This is so exciting, my friends. Because he didn’t stop there! Instead, “God Did Something Else New.”

He gave us a brand-new spirit (on the inside) when we said “Yes” to Him. Look at this scripture found in 2Co 5:17-21 (CSB) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he (or she)  is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!

2Co 5:18 Everything is from God, who has reconciled us to himself through Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.

2Co 5:19 That is, in Christ, God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and he has committed the message of reconciliation to us.

2Co 5:20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us. We plead on Christ’s behalf, “Be reconciled to God.” (Through Jesus.)

2Co 5:21 He made the one who did not know sin (Jesus Christ, His Son) to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Larry Atkerson Ministries

Larry Atkerson Sr. was born-again at a young age. He grew up in rural southeastern Oklahoma, then in high school, his family moved to Tulsa, Ok. During this time he met the young lady who would become his wife, Lisa. They got married when they were still in their teen years. Obviously, getting married at this age created some very interesting times as they both grew up and matured together. However, they have stayed true to their vows, to each other, and have basically grown up with their 3 wonderful children. Larry Atkerson Sr. and Lisa Atkerson both have received training in ministry at "Rhema Bible Training Center" and "School of the Local Church"/"Grace School of Ministry" in Broken Arrow, and Tulsa, Ok. respectively. While attending "School of the Local Church", he received his first taste of the original languages of the Bible, in a course called "Beginning Biblical Greek". Since that time he has also received training in "Biblical Hebrew", with a university based in Israel. "eTeacher". Larry Atkerson Sr. has worked/volunteered in just about every position a church or ministry can have. In doing so, he has filled many different roles ranging from door-greeter to Sunday-School teacher, and children’s church worker to counselor. He has also served in the pastoral positions of children’s, youth, and adult ministries. He has worked and been involved in hospital/visitation ministries where he has seen the power of God change people’s lives. He delights in going on short-term mission trips! All the while, seeing the love of God with applied wisdom - transform people and their lives forever. Larry Atkerson Sr. teaches a weekly bible study class starting just after spring break each year and continuing until right before Thanksgiving. In the class, he delves into the wonderful-exciting-mysteries and simplicity of the Word of God.
