What must I do to be Saved?

The Bible says…Rom 10:9-12 (KJV)  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Rom 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Rom 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

God didn’t make the plan of salvation hard! Yet, men, religion, thoughts and ideas have made it hard.

People say things like, “You must make for sure your good outweighs your bad or else you will not go to heaven!”

If this is so, then the thief on the cross had no chance of making it to heaven, (aka…”Paradise” until the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.) Yet, Jesus told him, “Today you will be with Me in Paradise!”

Yes! We should do good! Yes! We should help our family, friends, and neighbours! Yes! We should be kind to others! But this should all be a fruit of us being saved and not tied into actually what produces salvation.

The Bible simply says, Confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died and rose again from the dead. Then in doing so, eternal salvation has been produced in your heart.

From our Scripture section above, verse 11 says…the only way to NOT be eternally saved. Is to NOT accept His Grace of salvation, by believing and confessing His Sonship and Lordship!

Look at the verse again…Rom 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

The Greek word for ASHAMED in this verse is the word, καταισχύνω (kataischunō) pronounced – kat-ahee-skhoo’-no
It means; to shame down, that is, disgrace or (by implication) put to the blush: – confound, dishonour,

So the only way to NOT be saved! Is to dishonour God by not accepting His Son Jesus as Lord and Saviour!

But when you do accept Him, you will NEVER be disgraced! Or you could say it this way. When you accept Jesus Christ as the Son and God. As your Lord and Saviour then you will ALWAYS be IN His grace!

Does this mean, you will never sin or do wrong, again? Absolutely not! But what it does mean, is that you will always be in His Grace, wrapped-up by His love. So that when you mess up, you can run to His loving arms and not away from Him! Oh hallelujah!

My friends, are you ready to say “YES” to Him?

Then pray (confess) and believe this simple prayer with me… Father God, I believe Jesus Christ is your Son. I believe He came to this earth to be our sacrifice for sin. He was born of a virgin. Lived as a man, anointed by your Spirit. Died for me on the cross and rose again for my salvation. I accept Him now as my Lord and Saviour and as my best friend! Jesus I know I can always go to You and you will listen to me. I know if I mess up You will be there to help me through it. I thank You for loving me! I thank You that I am now on my way to heaven and eternally saved in You, the Beloved Son of God. In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen!

My friend, you are now part of the family of God! You are now my brother or sister in the Lord and I am so excited! If we don’t meet here on this earth, I know we will in heaven and I will be so excited to hear your testimony.

If you would like to comment or send us a message so we can celebrate with you, that would be great. Otherwise, no worries! Be blessed in all you do!

Larry Atkerson Ministries
Larry Atkerson Sr. was born-again at a young age. He grew up in rural southeastern Oklahoma, then in high school, his family moved to Tulsa, Ok. During this time he met the young lady who would become his wife, Lisa. They got married when they were still in their teen years. Obviously, getting married at this age created some very interesting times as they both grew up and matured together. However, they have stayed true to their vows, to each other, and have basically grown up with their 3 wonderful children. Larry Atkerson Sr. and Lisa Atkerson both have received training in ministry at "Rhema Bible Training Center" and "School of the Local Church"/"Grace School of Ministry" in Broken Arrow, and Tulsa, Ok. respectively. While attending "School of the Local Church", he received his first taste of the original languages of the Bible, in a course called "Beginning Biblical Greek". Since that time he has also received training in "Biblical Hebrew", with a university based in Israel. "eTeacher". Larry Atkerson Sr. has worked/volunteered in just about every position a church or ministry can have. In doing so, he has filled many different roles ranging from door-greeter to Sunday-School teacher, and children’s church worker to counselor. He has also served in the pastoral positions of children’s, youth, and adult ministries. He has worked and been involved in hospital/visitation ministries where he has seen the power of God change people’s lives. He delights in going on short-term mission trips! All the while, seeing the love of God with applied wisdom - transform people and their lives forever. Larry Atkerson Sr. teaches a weekly bible study class starting just after spring break each year and continuing until right before Thanksgiving. In the class, he delves into the wonderful-exciting-mysteries and simplicity of the Word of God.
