The War for Your Soul!

Eph 6:12 (KJV)  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

My friends, don’t panic when you hear things rumbling in the darkness. Know this; there is a war going on right now for the control of your mind. If the enemy can control your thoughts, then he can control you.

Our God has NOT given us a “spirit of fear”! But He has given us “Power, Love, and a Sound mind”, 2 Timothy 1:7. This is NOT a timid little love that says, “Whatever will be, will continue to be”! No, my friends! It’s a love that loves continuously in the face of all obstacles.

It is a bold, [arm-wrapping-tightly-around-you]…type of love, which says, “I will still be standing strong for you, “Come hell or high-water, No matter what”!

The reason why this love is so strong, is because it is based in the “Love of God“! That is, “Agape Love“. Which is the love that says, “I love you and there is nothing you can do to change that.” It is not based on the reciprocal of having love returned.

This is the “Love” God first showed us! Which was openly given to all who believe in Christ Jesus as the Son of the Most High God, through His death, burial, and resurrection from the dead.

With this, He also gave us “The Peace that passes all understanding“, Because Jesus is “Jehovah Shalom“, The Lord of Peace!

So, to all the things which try and compete for our time and our mind’s attention! Please know this, “You don’t have the right to steal our peace”! Our peace is not a worldly, finical peace. But it is one based in the things of God and He has given us a list of things to think on, instead.

Php 4:8-9 (KJV)  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Php 4:9  Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

My friends, make no mistake about it! There is an all-out battle going on, in and for our soulish realm! That is, our mind, will, and emotions! Don’t be taken captive by these thoughts, Instead, think on the things from above and apply them into your daily walk with the Lord.

Oh, let us give glory, honor, and praise to the Lord, God Almighty forever and ever, Amen and Amen!

Larry Atkerson Ministries

Larry Atkerson Sr. was born-again at a young age. He grew up in rural southeastern Oklahoma, then in high school, his family moved to Tulsa, Ok. During this time he met the young lady who would become his wife, Lisa. They got married when they were still in their teen years. Obviously, getting married at this age created some very interesting times as they both grew up and matured together. However, they have stayed true to their vows, to each other, and have basically grown up with their 3 wonderful children. Larry Atkerson Sr. and Lisa Atkerson both have received training in ministry at "Rhema Bible Training Center" and "School of the Local Church"/"Grace School of Ministry" in Broken Arrow, and Tulsa, Ok. respectively. While attending "School of the Local Church", he received his first taste of the original languages of the Bible, in a course called "Beginning Biblical Greek". Since that time he has also received training in "Biblical Hebrew", with a university based in Israel. "eTeacher". Larry Atkerson Sr. has worked/volunteered in just about every position a church or ministry can have. In doing so, he has filled many different roles ranging from door-greeter to Sunday-School teacher, and children’s church worker to counselor. He has also served in the pastoral positions of children’s, youth, and adult ministries. He has worked and been involved in hospital/visitation ministries where he has seen the power of God change people’s lives. He delights in going on short-term mission trips! All the while, seeing the love of God with applied wisdom - transform people and their lives forever. Larry Atkerson Sr. teaches a weekly bible study class starting just after spring break each year and continuing until right before Thanksgiving. In the class, he delves into the wonderful-exciting-mysteries and simplicity of the Word of God.
