How to Get Sweet-Sleep!

Pro 3:5-6 (KJV)  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Pro 3:6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

My friends, if there has ever been a time in our current history. In which, we need to understand this scripture setting. That is, just to just quieten down the noise around us, it is now!

The Bible says to “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart“. This is, with everything you have inwardly. From the deepest seat of everything inside of you. From the place, which nobody really knows, except you and God (and He still knows it better). From this point, begin to put your “Trust” in the Lord.

Next, it says to NOT lean on your own understanding.

A lot of us trust our own selves and our own thoughts and ideas above what anyone else has to say. Maybe, we feel safer that way! Perhaps we have been wronged or we have been given bad advise too many times, in the past. So, as a safeguard we think, “At least, if I’m making my own decisions now. There will be no one else to blame“. (Yet, down-deep inside, we really want someone else, to be the fall-guy. To take the blame! We want someone with big-enough shoulders to be able to take the heat, if things don’t go according to how we planned them.)

Oh, my goodness gracious, my friends! Here’s where the beauty of the God’s Word comes into play. He says, “Stop”! Don’t lean or trust in your own understanding, your own thoughts, and plans. Instead, “Trust in the Lord with ALL of your heart“! Then in ALL your ways, everywhere you go, and in everything you do, acknowledge Him! When you do, He will be able to direct your paths, your ways, and your steps.

He has a future planned for you, which is far-better than what you could do on your own. Jer 29:11 (GW)  I know the plans that I have for you, declares the LORD. They are plans for peace and not disaster, plans to give you a future filled with hope.

Oh hallelujah! He will lovingly help to quieten our silently-screaming minds and give us peace. The kind of peace, which allows you to cuddle up in your blankets and pillows at night and get, “Sweet-Sleep” like a baby.

Pro 3:24 (KJV)  When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.

Oh my friends, we are so much better off, when we put our “TRUST” in Him!

Thank You Lord! When we don’t understand the things going on around us. We don’t have to walk in fear! We can call on You! We can put our “Trust” in You and You will see us through. It may not be the way we wanted it to be. But we put our “Trust” in You, in Your precious, holy name we pray and believe, in Jesus name, Amen and Amen!

Larry Atkerson Ministries
Larry Atkerson Sr. was born-again at a young age. He grew up in rural southeastern Oklahoma, then in high school, his family moved to Tulsa, Ok. During this time he met the young lady who would become his wife, Lisa. They got married when they were still in their teen years. Obviously, getting married at this age created some very interesting times as they both grew up and matured together. However, they have stayed true to their vows, to each other, and have basically grown up with their 3 wonderful children. Larry Atkerson Sr. and Lisa Atkerson both have received training in ministry at "Rhema Bible Training Center" and "School of the Local Church"/"Grace School of Ministry" in Broken Arrow, and Tulsa, Ok. respectively. While attending "School of the Local Church", he received his first taste of the original languages of the Bible, in a course called "Beginning Biblical Greek". Since that time he has also received training in "Biblical Hebrew", with a university based in Israel. "eTeacher". Larry Atkerson Sr. has worked/volunteered in just about every position a church or ministry can have. In doing so, he has filled many different roles ranging from door-greeter to Sunday-School teacher, and children’s church worker to counselor. He has also served in the pastoral positions of children’s, youth, and adult ministries. He has worked and been involved in hospital/visitation ministries where he has seen the power of God change people’s lives. He delights in going on short-term mission trips! All the while, seeing the love of God with applied wisdom - transform people and their lives forever. Larry Atkerson Sr. teaches a weekly bible study class starting just after spring break each year and continuing until right before Thanksgiving. In the class, he delves into the wonderful-exciting-mysteries and simplicity of the Word of God.
