I Am the One Whom Jesus Loves! Part 2

John 13:23 (MKJV) But there was one of His disciples leaning upon Jesus’ bosom, the one whom Jesus loved.

My friends, last week we said we would examine this statement a little closer.

In order to see if we qualify, for the same statement to be made about us. So, let’s examine where this statement was made in the Bible and who it was referring to. Then maybe, just maybe, we could see if it could apply to us, as well.

One thing is for certain! Where ever we find where this saying in the Bible. It must without a doubt, refer to someone who was so very conscience of the Lord’s love for them. That they could not help themselves and would without any hesitation, state it.

So let’s begin looking to see where this statement was made… 1. John 13:23 (MKJV) But there was one of His disciples (John) leaning upon Jesus’ bosom, the one whom Jesus loved.

  1. John 19:26 (MKJV) Then when Jesus saw His mother and the disciple whom He loved (John) standing by, He said to His mother, Woman, behold your son!
  2. John 20:2 (MKJV) Then she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved (John), and said to them, They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him.
  3. John 21:7 (MKJV) Then that disciple whom Jesus loves (John) said to Peter, It is the Lord! Then hearing that it is the Lord, Simon Peter girded on his coat (for he was naked), and cast himself into the sea. [“for he was naked” is not, in the sense of having absolutely nothing on. Instead, according to “Thayer’s definition” and the “Greek Word Study” his outer garments were laid aside (his coat) and he was only clad with his undergarments on.]
  4. John 21:20 (MKJV) Then Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved (John) following (the one who also leaned on His breast at supper, and said, Lord, who is he who betrays You?)

Oh Praise the Lord, my friends! There are so many answers to our questions, found in these verses!

First off, did you notice how many times it appears in the Word of God? It appears 5 times! We already know from our previous studies that the number 5, refers to God’s Grace.

That is, His unmerited and unearned favor, which He bestows on us and all we can do is stand there and behold His abundant blessings. Now at this point, we should find ourselves basking in His presence and giving Him glory for what He has done and what He continues to do for us, daily.

Next thing we can observe in these 5 verses…it was always the apostle/disciple John, to whom it was declared, “The one whom Jesus loves.”

Furthermore, John is the only one who recorded this statement. 🙂 No one else recorded it in the same way. It is only found in his account in the gospels. He was so conscience of the Lord’s love for him that he couldn’t help it! He had to tell everyone, “I am the one whom Jesus loves!”

My brothers and sisters, we need to be so conscience of the Lord’s love for us. That we can say, “I Am the One Whom Jesus Loves!”

For when we understand this, then we can come boldly before the throne of God and ask for the “Impossible to be made possible” in our lives and see it happen!

Being conscience of the Lord’s love for us, changes the way we pray and approach Him. When we know that His love is unconditional towards us. Then we will stop disqualifying ourselves from receiving His blessings in our lives.

No longer will we say, “I’m not good enough to receive this from God.”

Instead, we will say, “Jesus is worthy enough to receive this blessing in His life and as He is in heaven. So, am I here on this earth”, 1 John 4:17

We should state our love for the Lord and say, “I love the Lord!”

But more importantly, we should also know and state, “I am the one whom Jesus loves!”

For when we understand that we are loved by our heavenly Father, not based on our own performance. But based on His Son’s performance and obedience to Him through His death, burial, and resurrection from the dead.

Then surely our prayer life will change! We will pray and believe God for anything in alignment with His Word and see it’s fulfillment. When we are not praying from a place of trying to be worthy enough to receive God’s goodness and blessings in our lives.

Instead, we are praying from the standpoint of, My God loves me so greatly that He only wants the best for me and my family. Therefore, as Jesus, the Son is blessed at the right hand of the Father, so am I. Because as He is in heaven, so am I here on this earth!

Is Jesus sick or diseased in heaven? No!

Then sickness and disease has no place in my life and I thank the Lord Jesus that the price He paid was enough! He took those stripes on His back for me, so that I could walk free of anything, which is not perfect divine health. I speak this over myself, my family, my friends, and anyone else who wants to be healed and whole, in Jesus name, Amen and Amen!

My friends, walk in wisdom in the natural until your healing is manifested in your life. Please, don’t do dumb things like drive without your glasses on, if you need them to see. Pray and know that God hears you and sooner rather than later, you know your healing will be made complete in your body. Then you will be able to take and eye test and pass with flying colors, (if this is what you are believing for?)

But whatever your need is that you are asking for God to do in your life. Please know that He wants to give it to you more than you want it in your life!

His Word says this in Eph 3:17-21 (MKJV) that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

Eph 3:18  may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth and length and depth and height,

Eph 3:19  and to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge, that you might be filled with all the fullness of God.

Eph 3:20  Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

Eph 3:21  to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, forever. Amen.

My friends, boldly come before the throne room of Grace and know that because of His love for you. He wants to do more then you can ask, vs 20.

Then surely you will state, I know Jesus hears me when I pray because, “I am the one whom He loves”!
