Wow! What a relief that would be! To start over anew; to have past problems resolved; to finally have the job or career, which we always wanted to have; to be free of all sicknesses and diseases, and to have relationships restored that were once very important to us.
It almost sounds like a pipe dream to think that any of the things listed above, could ever come to pass. But in the power, grace, and love of our Lord, Jesus Christ, it can happen.
In Heb 10:35 (KJV) it says… Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
What exactly does this mean?
Well, let’s take a look at a key definition in this scripture from the phrase…”Cast not away“… The Greek word for “Not” in this case, is the word, μή. Pronounced as “may“. It is used as * implying that one conceives or supposes a thing “not” to exist. It doesn’t mean that it no longer exist. But, it is listed as a belief or really the negation of that belief. Here is where the admonishment comes in.
Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the writer of the book of Hebrews (probably the apostle Paul), states to us. To “NOT” throw or cast away our hope and confidence in the Lord. For in it we will have a great recompense of reward, which is able to preserve our soul, (mind, will, and emotions) verse 39.
We know of our reward in heaven and this is obviously attributed to it one day. But God wants us to prosper and be in health here on earth, as well – 3 John 1:2.
Did you know, He wants good things for us, even more than what we do for ourselves? He wants us to have a “more abundant” life, John 10:10. Now, when we glance at the list in our first paragraph above. What comes to mind that you want to believe God for?
Are there are any things, places, relationships, jobs, or careers where we may have given up our confidence? If so, I just want to encourage you to try again. To go further in your pursuit to better yourself.
You can do it! If you are a child of the Most High God, He is pulling for you. He is ready to give you, your “New Beginning“!
Look at this promise to Israel and now to all of us, His children from the book of Jeremiah. The (ISV) states it like this.
Jer 29:11 For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for well-being, and not for calamity, in order to give you a future and a hope.
Jer 29:12 When you call out to me and come and pray to me, I’ll hear you.
Jer 29:13 You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart.
