We have been looking at “Everything in Season”. When we know and understand that there are different times and seasons in everyone’s life. Then it helps us to make it through some of the tougher-times with an outlook of hope.
#Hope itself, makes things a little easier. Because it changes our perspective.
The Apostle Paul said this concerning the different seasons of life, which he had been through.
Php 4:11-13 (MKJV) Not that I speak according to need, for I have learned to be content in whatever state I am. (Or really, he could have said, “In whatever season of life that I am facing, at the moment. I have learned to be content”.)
Php 4:12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound. In everything and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
Php 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

As we all know Php 4:13 is quoted a lot in christian circles and it should be. But let’s take a look at it in the context it was written?
In verse 11, he says, “I have learned”.
There was a growth process the apostle had to go through. This was not something he inherently knew or always followed. However, he did learn, (he trained himself, with God’s help) to follow Him in everything he did. In doing so, he learned, the Lord was always with him.
Therefore, when he faced the valleys in life or he was on the mountain-tops, (the highs and lows in life). It did not matter! For just knowing and having confidence in the Lord, allowed him to be content in whatever state/season he was going through. 🙂
In saying all of this we should also note; “The God we serve is a miracle-working, season-changing, always on our side, God.” The Bible says, “There is a friend which sticks closer than a brother,” Proverbs 18:24b.
My friends, that Friend is Jesus! He is our miracle-working, season-changer, when needed or when it’s appropriate.
So, when it comes to the different “Times and Seasons” in our life, which we all face. There will be times, in which we will have to walk through a season, just like everyone else does. With one exception, we have Jesus! He is our “Ace in the hole”!

When we know that He wants the very best for us in every situation. Then we can also “Learn” to walk in a state of contentment, even when everything is seemingly going awry!
But wait! With all this being said, let’s now introduce the “Season Changing” side of our Lord and Savior.
The very first miracle Jesus performed in His ministry was to “Turn the water into wine”!
Oh, but hold on to your thoughts for just a moment! Like how good, could it have been? It wasn’t even aged for 1 day!
Well, here is where the miracle of the “Season Changer” comes into focus.
Because as noted by the ruler of the feast. Jesus didn’t just turn it into some cheap, after dinner wine with a nasty after-taste. No! The ruler of the feast said this in, John 2:10 (KJV) … Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.
My friends, when our God compresses times and/or seasons. He does it well! After all, He is the One who began the whole process of time, in the beginning, anyway.
If we stop to actually think about this miracle of “Turning the water into wine”. It is quite the miracle! Plus, from the natural side of things, there were a lot of seemingly skipped steps, (to say the least). As well as, the many, many years of “Seasons”, which our Lord changed on the behalf of this wedding. That is, concerning the process of time required to make a good wine.
For in the wine-making process. Normally, there is at least a grape seed or a grape vine involved, which gets planted.
Next, it gets watered by the rain or an irrigation system. It is also necessary to receive some sunlight and “Voilà ”! With all these things coming together in the right amounts. It will now begin to grow and produce leaves and then eventually the fruit, (after a few months or years have gone by, anyway.)
Finally, we arrive at harvest time. The fruit gets picked, washed, cleaned, and processed. Once it has been processed properly, it is then set aside to “Age”, in order to produce a great tasting wine.
Now, let’s examine the steps Jesus performed. In verse 6, we see there were 6 waterpots, which held about two or three firkins apiece, (equal to 18-27 gallons each.)
In verse 7, He had them filled to the brim! Then He had the servants draw out from the water pots and give the drink unto the governor of the feast. The governor then responds with, how good this wine actually is.
Obviously, we understand there were a lot of “Time and Seasons” supernaturally and miraculously changed or bypassed with Jesus performing His first miracle. Also, He didn’t half-way do it! He did it splendidly and made the best wine of the entire wedding celebration.
[My friends, this shows our Lord is concerned about every area of our life. Not just the areas in which we think He should be concerned or care about.]
There are obviously, a lot of other times in which Jesus shows us, He is the Creator of the heavens and the earth. Of “Times and Seasons” and that He set everything into motion.
My friends, have no doubt about it! He can also, change the “Seasons” in our life to be longer or shorter, depending on our need, our ask, and our belief. He is the miraculous “Season Changer”! Oh, Hallelujah! 🙂
With all this being said. Sometimes, we will have to walk through a season in our life, which might be harder than we had thought, it would be. We would like nothing more then to see it come to an end tomorrow.
But just remember, He is right there with us! So, in knowing and having confidence in our Lord, we can be content in whatever state we are in. Especially, when we acknowledge in our daily walk with Him that our Risen Savior walks with us everyday.
