Overcoming Temptations! Part 1

Oh wow! This is an exciting, interesting, and needed topic of discussion! It is even heavily debated at times. However, we know this one thing, our heavenly Father, already knew it would be and He has already done something about it. He knows our beginning from the end and as a result, nothing catches Him by surprise!

There is no doubt, He wants us to experience salvation, prosperity, be in health, and overcome all obstacles, including every #Temptation in our life.

Fact of the matter is, He has already planned for our future to be good and full of hope.

Jer 29:11 (CSB) For I know the plans I have for you” — this is the LORD’s declaration — “plans for your well-being, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

My friends, no matter where we live or what we face in our lives today. God Almighty, has already planned for us to succeed in every area of our lives. When it comes to “Temptations” and trials, look what He said about them.

1Co 10:13 (CSB) No temptation has come upon you except what is common to humanity, (so the devil is a lair and you are not the only person who has ever been faced with this situation). But God is faithful; he will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to bear it.

God is always faithful!

He told us that He is faithful! We can stop right there and give Him praise! Oh hallelujah! He is #faithful even when others are not! He is faithful and He’s worthy to be praised! He also says, when you are tempted, He will NOT allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to stand. 🙂

Plus, His promise goes even further than that. For He states, “I will also provide you with a way out of the temptation.”

My friends, long before we were ever faced a situation in our adulthood where we might have fallen short. We had already experienced “Temptations” and trials in our teen years and younger. Obviously, we look back on how we were presented with a choice to make a right or wrong decision. Then we judge our present situation and possible outcome, based on how the previous ones went.

So, now when we are faced with a similar, yet different “Temptation” today. We have already based our possible outcome, on how it went previously.

For an example, let’s take this back to the beginning of our little lives. You know, we all started off innocent enough, right! We have all faced different “Temptations” to do right or wrong, ever since we were a toddler and in diapers. I remember my oldest daughter, being faced with a particular kind of “Temptation” right after she begin to walk, as a toddler.

We lived in an apartment at the time and we had a nice stereo system. She apparently watched us turn up and down the volume knob several times a day. She also apparently liked the music when it played louder, instead of softer. 🙂 Because from the time she could reach it, she never turned it down, she always turned it up.

From the very moment she began to walk. She would go straight for the stereo and crank up the volume. Then knowing it was wrong (because we told her “No” several times), she would take off running just as fast as her little legs would take her.

Then if she had the chance like the little baby below, she would start dancing to it as well.

I mean, its not even like she could hide her decision to disobey! Because the entire apartment complex knew when she did it! Lol! 🙂

Dancing baby! 🙂

Even though this is a simple illustration of being tempted to do something that she was not supposed to do. It still shows our ability, even at a young age, to know right from wrong and to act on it.

My friends, we will dig into this a little deeper on our next post. Just know that God is on your side and He wants you to make good decisions, which will impact your life for your good and the good of everyone around you, by His Grace.
